Bowls, platters, boxes, clocks and other turned items

Why "Turned Green?"

Most of my bowls, platters, boxes and other items are turned from "green" wood - trees fallen in recent storms or cut down because they were damaged.   All pieces are from domestically grown trees (grown in the US).  No imported woods are used.

The process of turning green wood

Cut from the tree, a section will be "rough-turned," then dried.  Once dried the turning is completed, after which the piece is sanded and a finish is applied.

Each piece is unique

Following the shape dictated by the tree makes each piece unique.  To see samples of my turnings, click on "Bowls and Platters" or "Other items" in the navigation bar at the top of the page.

There is no on-line store here, although you can buy these pieces by contacting me via the email form below.  If you can, visit me at one of the listed events so you can pick the item up and take a closer look.
